Frequency values of free torsional vibrations of a multi-mass system are clarified, taking into account the reciprocating piston and connecting rod movement as variable on their value masses. In this case frequencies are higher than at normal calculation. At the further calculations of forced vibrations there is a possibility to clarify resonance rotational frequencies and a damper value.

The non-linear mathematical model SARS is considered 0f the tractor supercharged diesel engine velocity, taking into account the fuel supply correction on rotational frequency and boosting pressure. Engineering method is developed and approved of the analytical definition of the valve plunger pair geometry, controlled at the fuel supply end, related to fuel pumps for supercharged diesel engines. The calculating technique allows to project the plunger pair geometry for a minimum time spent, and to meet its requirements.

Semi-empirical expression is deduced, deinfing dependence of heavy oil fuel density on pressure. Having used it analytical dependences aie defined of interconnection of average and current fuel and pressure elastic modulus. Results of experimental definition of above dependences are given, that proves the physical interpretation of the fuel compression-extension process.

Investigations of the engine disbalance variation at their serviceand repair

Investigation results are shomn on what caused the engine disbalanse increase at their operation and repair. It is discovered that the major disbalance causes the tolerance increase in main bearings, collection of wear and dirt products in the crankpin dirt pocket, dissipation of plug mass in the crankpin dirt pocket and crankshaft deflection.

Results of investigations are given of the atomizer body deformation of locomotive engine nozzle atomizers, depending on power, technological and constructive factors. Ways to decrease the influence of the atomizer deformation on the nozzle reliability are shown. A new nozzle construction is considered for engines type D100 after service tests have been made on locomotive engines up to 540 000 km runnfng (about 15 400 h).
