Results are given of an experimental investigation of the mixture homogenizing effect on effective and toxical factors of a petrol engine. It is shown that the engine operation on evaporated fuel provides an essential decrease of the specific fuel consumption and also decrease of the poisonous exhaust gas discharge, covering all three components: CO, CnHm, NOx.

The main philosophy of development and fields of application of constructive engine varieties are defined depending on the engine boost level. Advantages and defects of compound and one-piece pistons are shown and also the methods of their cooling.

The equation of heat release speed is derived, based on the theory of the single fuel drop burning. The drop distribution was shown with the Rosin — Rammler curve. The calculation investigation is carried out of equation term behaviour during burning, and calculated and experimental curves of the heat release speed are compared.

Modelling of the indicator process of a marine diesel engine is considered, taking into account instability of the operating cycle sequence, caused by chance disturbance. Modelling results are described and compared with experimental data.

Experimental data are given on values of oscillating power, radiated into the foundation, of seven diesel engine units with different types and modifications of their damper systems. Criteria are defined evaluating the damper system quality on the value of vibro-radiation and vibro-insulation. For the frequency range 120 to 150 Hz the analytical dependence is proposed for calculation of vibro-radiation and vibro-insulation values of damped diesel engine units.

Experiment results are given, showing increased electrochemical corrosion damages of vibrating metallic surfaces, due to the acoustic flow in surrounding liquid. It can be seen that at the beginning of cavitation and when is does not exist, the speed of the electro-chemical damage of the vibrating surface depends on the mass transferring process.
