Distribution of liquid fuel over the diesel engine torch volume

The improved technique for investigation of the liquid fuel distribution over the diesel engine torch volume is offered. As investigation result two parts in the torch volume are revealed: a nucleus, where fuel is going to the torch front, and envelope, where delayed fuel particles are collected. Within the investigated range of the backpressure 70 to 90% of fuel is going through the section at 140 mm distance from the nozzle hole of 0.53 mm diameter.

Investigation of the heat release process at fuel combustion during the engine start by means of compressed air

An analysis of the heat release process is described, considering the starting air mass and energy. It is defined that under lower temperature conditions, due to timely starting air delivery, there is a possibility to prevent the charge over- cooling in working cylinders during the engine start, using compressed air.

Features of some mathematical models of the agent movement in internal combustion engines

Two main mathematical models of the agent non-stationary movement in internal combustion engines are considered and evaluated. A model is offered, synthesizing main and non-stationary ?]????? phenomena, accompanied by intensive dissipation energy. In utmost cases this model can be equivalent to the main model. The model gets satisfactory coincidence with the experiment both in pressure and in the law of variation of the agent temperature time.

The formula derivation is given for calculation of the mean indicator pressure in a cylinder with a link connecting rod, on the developed indicator diagram, considering the piston kinematics features in such a cylinder, and a working formula for calculation of pi in engines 12ChN18/20. Two methods of grouping are shown to determine harmonic scanning factors of the indicator diagram.
