Critical heat release conditions for cylinder liners at the air cooling

Conditions are considered to prevent the heat flow, perceived by cylinder liner walls, to exceed those discharged through cooling fins. Investigation of the effect of engine dynamic characteristics on the main part wear

Factors are investigated theoretically and experimentally, to define the engine and its parts wear at operation under non- steady conditions, caused by external exciting and controlling effects. Connection is established analytically between main engine parameters: piston stroke, driven flywheel mass and its dynamic characteristics, defining character and speed of the friction pair wear under non-steady conditions. Technique for definition of the torque dynamic characteristics and degree of wear is given.

Method is given for a comparative evaluation of heat exchange surface compact packing, based on a coefficient of the heat exchange surface energy evaluation, analytical dependences of the heat carrier thermal interaction, when going through the heat accumulating layer, and also using the method of type «non-stationary thermal conditions». Final analytical dependences are given to calculate comparative energy consumption in tested packings on known thermal hydraulic and heat-physical characteristics of a surface and flow.

Test results are given of the engine 6ChN25/34-6 cylinder liners, their inner surface is coated with a regular microrelief, of a spiral groove type. The engine mechanical efficiency thereat increased by 1.0 to 1.5%, specific fuel consumption decreased by 1.5 to 2 g/(kW h), and the cylinder liner and piston ring wear reduced 1.5 to 2 times.
