Heat balance characteristics and temperature conditions of a supercharged diesel engine with water anl antifreeze cooling

Technique and results of heat balance tests are described for high speed automotive supercharged diesel engine with water and antifreeze cooling. It's shown that at the antifreeze cooling the heat portion, entering the cooling liquid, is decreased, but heat dissipation to oil anl exhaust gas is increased. It can be noticed the essential increase of the engine cylinder head temperatures.

Maximum hydrodynamic pressure of the lubricating layer in the multiple loaded sliding bearings

Results ere given of theoretical investigations as to defi nition of the maximum hydrodynamic pressure in the lubricating layer. Dependence is defined of the maximum hydrodynamic pressure on a umber of constructive and operating parameters. It is shown that both the maximum hydrodynamic pressure in the lubricating layer and the trajectory of the crankpin centre are necessary and important parameters when calculating multiple loaded sliding bearings.

Effect of piston circuit labyrinth parameters on its effectiveness

Analytical interconnection is established of effectiveness and parameters of the engine piston circuit labyrinth with dynamic instable compression rings, based on the analysis of forces effecting the piston ring and compression ring axial movement in piston grooves at compression and operating cycles. Operating conditions of the circuit labyrinth are defined and effect of a clearance of the first compression ring lock on its properties, using a complex method for a piston of 150 mm.

Geometry and reproduction of hypocycloidal stators and rotors of rotor-reciprocating engines

Geometrical theory is given to design stators and rotors of RPD with out-of-centroidal hypocycloidal coupling. Recommendations are given on how to select main initial parameters .defining stator and rotor geometry, coming from required volumes of RPD operation chambers. The problem of the formerless treatment considered of RPD hypocycloidal stators and rotors, using an instrument of the cylindrical shape. Diagrams of mechanisms are given, taken as a base for machine tools for RPD stator and rotor cutting.

The use of the liquid ZHTK-3 for the electro-erosion treatment of the fuelequipment parts

An analysis is given of main reasons for operating damages of connecting rod bearings, experimental data are given, to specify the bearing cranking process. It is shown that before bearing cranking rubbing and firing stages take place because of bearing deformation, caused by assembling and thermostress; recommendations are given on reduction of bearing deformation intensity at operation.

Effect of the fuel injection characteristic on the mixture forming and combustion in an engine at slow movement of the charge air

Calculation and experimental data are given on improvement of the high speed supercharged diesel engine operation by means of improvement of the fuel injection characteristics. It is shown that the fuel delivery intensity allows to improve the engine parameters and reduce the hitting range of the fuel spray, all the more increasing the volumetric mixture forming. Effect of the injection intensity on the initial phase of the heat dissipation process is considered.

Increase of the thermo-oxidizing resistance of diesel fuel by means of the shielding additive PMAM-2

Oxidation of standard and heavy diesel fuels in the liquid phase is considered, in relation to the engine nozzle contamination by varnishes and carbon deposits. It is shown that the additive PMAM-2 (co-polymer of ethyl of aliphatic alcohol C8 — C12 metacryl acid with 2-methyl-5-vinylpyridin) eliminates the solid phase in the fuel, heated up to 250 °C and prevents the nozzle contamination, their temperature at the engine operation does not exceed 250 °C.
