Calculation of the noise spectrum of multi-cylinder in-line engines

Evaluation is considered of the octave spectrum of the sound power of multi-cylinder in-line diesel engines, based on a calculated model, kind of two plates, connected by diaphragms. Engine frame dimensions, some mechanical properties of the material, the engine mass and cylinder bore, its speed, piston speed and maximum cylinder pressure are used as reference data.

A friction coefficient and wear are studied of the friction pair graphite AG-T1 — steel, mark 20 with different types of sublayers and coatings at 500 °C.
