Dependence is given to define an engine cylinder air charge, the engine with the back pressure at the outlet, the forced scavenging is evaluated. Necessity is explained in the use of additional quality coefficients of the scavenging and their characteristics. The use of above coefficients is described, and also an example is given of the scavenging air quality and timing.

A technique is described of a numerical calculation on the computer, using the method of finite elements for three dimensional tasks of stationary heat conduction and thermal elasticity, using volumetric isoparametric finite elements. An example is given of a numerical investigation of a volumetric thermal and thermal-stressed conditions of the engine ChN21/21 cylinder cover, taking into account the local nature of the heat exchange on the piston fire side.
