Problems are considered concerning high speed pressure charged diesel engine operation with lower actual pressure ratio. Methods of numerical modelling of the engine operation are used on a computer and the mathematical optimization. Results are evaluated of the reason to use a cycle with the lower actual pressure ratio on the engine 6ChN21/21 up to Pme = 2000 êPa at n = 25 s-1.

Method of calculation of the pressure drop in paper and cardboard filters at the flow of fresh and contaminated air

Structure features are described of filter cardboard and paper, which are variety of fibrous filter materials, and by the analysis a model of a cardboard can be chosen, proved by investigations. The method is offered to calculate resistance and operation duration, when both fresn and contaminated air is going through the filter board, considering variation of the engine air consumption, dispersion and physical-chemical dust composition, the board characteristics and air contamination at the inlet of the cycle apparatus of the first cleaning stage. Developed calculation method is fully coordinated with experimental data.

Heat stability of piston rings, made of cast iron with higher graphite composition

Investigation results are given of heat stability of piston rings, made of two alloyed cast irons (with molibdenum and molibdenum with chromium) and two carbonic cast irons (with lower and higher graphite content) at the common perlite matrix and similar all the rest element content. It is shown that the effect of molibdenum as a thermal stable additive is stronger than the chromium effect, and that the heat stability of rings, made of carbonic cast iron with the higher graphite content is stronger than of carbonic cast iron rings with less graphite content by 0.25 %.
