Calculation of a crankshaft as a space rod finite element system

A universal calculation method for crankshafts is offered, based on the method of finite elements as a motion method. Rod finite elements are used, their rigidity matrixes consider the effect of the shearing and tensile-and compressive deformations for the crankshaft approximation. This technique allows to consider any conditions of the shaft support, the support softness and non-coaxiality including. The effect of rigidity parameters is studied of the crank pin rod model, and also of the support non-coaxiality on the support reaction values.

An optimum on its quick action control for the engine adjustment

A principle is described of the building of an automatic control system for the engine adjustment on the test bed. Calculation is given of an optimum (quick action) governor, based on the principle of the Pontriagin maximum. A diagram is shown of the optimum control system transient, and also the phase picture and structure. Implement of this control system is shown to give a positive effect.
