Improved accuracy of calculation models are described with decreased extent of the initial information, necessary for numerical calculation, using the computer; it is based on requirements of finite element approximations of the diesel engine frame. Results are given of experimental investigations of the diesel engine 6ChN13/14 (YaMZ-236) with single-speed and all-speed governors. Test bed investigations of the engine of the automobile MAZ-500 and its road tests showed that the si gle-speed governor contributes to improvement of the automobile effectiveness and to the decrease of the noxious emission to the environment.

Comparative investigations of the noise emission of the diesel-generator 10D N20,7/2X 25,4, operating with driven volumetric and centrifugal blowers

Investigation results are described of the locomotive diesel-generator 10DN20.7/2X25.4 noise emission at two versions of the second supercharging stage. Noise-grammes are built and a value of the noise level is defined, in dependense of the engine operation conditions. The effect is considered of a driven blower of two types — centrifugal and volumetric — on the noise level of the diesel-generator 10DN20.7/2X 25.4. The diesel-generator noise spectrograms are compared, using two versions of the second à r supercharging stage of the driven blower.

Noise forming in the engine exhaust system

A problem is considered of a low frequency noise in the engine exhaust system. An interconnection is indicated between low frequency noise levels and high frequency noise, emitted at the exhaust. Constructive decisions of exhaust system elements are offered, providing decrease of the noise at exhaust, complying with a developed model of the noise forming.
