Features are considered of calculation of the temperature field in a «hot» cylinder of DVPT. One-size model of the cylinder head conduction is offered. Results of calculation and measurements of details' temperature field are given.

Algorithm is proposed to define a spectrum of dynamic loads, which the crankshaft transfers to main bearings. It is based on the method of finite elements, considering mutual influence of mass-elastic properties of both crankshaft and frame, load variation at the shaft revolution, and hydrodynamic conditions for bearing lubrication. This algorithm allows to clarify load values at design and calculation of main bearings.

Calculation technique is offered for non-stationary loaded main and crankpin sliding bearings for engine crankshafts, which allow to define quite easily thickness and temperature of the lubricating layer, oil consumption through bearing, it is given as a program in FORTRAN language for the computer type EC-1022.

Results are given of an experimental investigation of separate gas flows in the engine exhaust port under stationary and non- stationary conditions. Comparative analysis of the flow structure is carried out, and coefficients of the port flow rate are given.

Problems are considered, concerning the curve of heat release in the engine cylinder as a diagnostic factor, carrying information of the engine element technical condition. Investigation results are given of the heat release of the marine low speed diesel engine 6DKRN67/140-4 within the wide range of its load and speed operation conditions. Features are shown of a creation of the standard heat release model, based on the I. I. Vibe semi-empirical dependence.

A clarified technique is described, explaining optimum permissible diagnostic parameters of the production on the technical and economical criterion, calculating limiting and permissible values of the fuel pressure at the high pressure fuel pump suction line.

A problem is studied of how to use automatic protection systems and excess air supply to increase reliability and effectiveness of the supercharged automotive diesel engine operation at typical for them transits. It is shown that at these systems' joint function main parameters are improved, which effects the operation reliability and effectiveness — the air-fuel ratio is higher and transit time is less.

Description is given of a metal-cutting fine boring machine for crankshaft bearings in long-measured crankcases in diesel engines 6ChN21/21 and 6DM-21A. Technical solutions are described, providing the high accuracy and class of roughness of treatment, high technology of the machine manufacturing and its reliability.

A technique is given of the definition of real clearances between cylinder and piston in the operating engine. Investigation was carried out of clearances in the engine D144. Variation of clearances is shown between cylinder and the piston guide during all the piston stroke under different operating conditions.

Analysis was carried out of the effect of size and configuration of connecting channels of spark plugs for precombustion chambers of a rotary-piston engine on its effective parameters and exhaust gas toxicity. It is shown that the outlet of the upper spark plug forchamber in a shape of a rectangular groove does not affect parameters at full load, and leads to the intensive operation at idling and partial load, and to decrease of this spark plug thermal stress.
