Investigation results are given of the operation of an automobile engine with the volumetrical - wall side mixing. For investigations a one-cylinder diesel engine was used, on the base of technique to plan the experiment. The operation features are analyzed of the engine with the volumetrical-wall side mixing. Data are given of the indicator diagram spectral characteristics of the diesel engine 8ChN11/11.5.

Hydraulic characteristics of the oil supply from a fixed nozzle to a cooled piston

New hydraulic characteristics are offered for the oil delivery from the fixed nozzle to the cooled piston. Using technique for the experiment planning, dependences of these characteristics are given on oil parameters before the nozzle, and on other factors essential for cooled pistons of different constructions. Evaluation of the oil consumption calculation is possible through the fixed piston.

Use of a quasi-static hypothesis for calculation of axial pulse turbines for diesel engine superchargers

Results are given of an experimental check of the quasi-static hypothesis, used for calculation of pulse turbines of diesel engine superchargers. The error of defenition of the turbine power and consumption on the quasi-static hypothesis is shown to be within the experimental defieition error limits, in the range of the pulse frequency and amplitudes, typical for a high speed 4-stroke diesel engine.

Thermoelectric control of the case-hradened layer hardness

The thermoelectric method of the non-destructive control is offered to use control the case-hardened hardness of the surface of constructive steels 18H2N4MA and 12HNZA. Dependence is shown between the thermoelectromotive force and the case-hardened surface hardness and between the carbon content in the case-hardened layer and its thermoelectromotive force. The influence is considered of the thermal treatment and grinding process on the case-hardened layer thermoelectromotive force. The thermoelectric control of the case-hardened layer hardness is used now in the series production and resulted in the essential effect.

A method is given of the prediction of the tractor engine compression ring wear, based on the calculation, using equations of the hydrodynamic lubrication theory for the real friction area (on the oil layer thickness between the ring and the cylinder) and the further calculation, using computer, of the ring wear during their operation.
