Improvement of economical and ecological parameters of diesel engines, produced by the Yaroslavle motor plant

Reference and actual parameters, used in the 12th five year period, of series production diesel engines are given. Due to the modernization of the fuel equipment, boosting system and piston group as well as the increase of the relative combustion chamber volume economic parameters of diesel engines are going to improve by some 4.5 to 7.0 % with the decrease of smoke, exhaust gas discharge to the level of meeting requirements of new legislative limits. Results are given of adjustments in creation of a new family of YaMZ diesel engines for heavy auto-trucks, quarry trucks and tractors.

A numerical estimation of optimum mixture forming conditions (corresponding to bi min) using known experimental data is carried out in dependence on a mixture forming method and combustion chamber type. Analysis and technique are given of selection of the combustion chamber constructive elements, diffuser and whirl relations, corresponding to minimum bi min. A number of experimental facts is explained, particularly, the increase of optimum fuel ignition advance angle with the increase and also the effect at both optimum and delayed ignition advance angle.

The use of a method of the electrothermal analogue for correction of the liner temperature measurement error

At the thermometering of engine cylinders thermocouples are recommended to install into special recesses, milled on the liner generant, that allows practically to eliminate the measurement error, caused by the heat release from the junction on thermocouple electrodes. In order to correct a systematic measurement error an empiric dependence is proposed, attained by the heat conduction modelling of the liner, and by the electrothermal enalogue on its surface.

A conclusion is given of the main influence of the shaft deflection on the operation of rotor-piston engine main bearings at high speed. A mechanism of jamming is proved to the result of the shaft thrust in the bearing. It is proved that the theory of the liquid friction can't be used for the analysis of the sleeve bearing condition when the bearing units are deformed.

The proposed principles of forming a complex of rejection parameters of motor oils

The principles of formation of complexes of rejection parameters of working motor oils are considered. It is pointed out that the use of some numerical values of parameters is unreasonable and their lack of connection with the most important operational properties of motor oils. It is proposed to use complex parameters that allow to evaluate the aging processes of oil and judge the aging processes and the expected durability and efficiency of diesel engines. The imperfection of individual quality control methods is shown. Possible promising principles of constructing a complex of rejection parameters are considered.
