Features of the combustion process of gasoline and diesel fuel mixtures in a diesel engine, providing a D-process

Results are described of an experimental investigation of the combustion process of gasoline and diesel fuel mixtures, using the additive TsGN in the diesel engine 1Ch11/11.5. An approximating expression is given for the time of the ignition delay, and summary (experimental) dependences of the combustion process parameters. Features of the effect of the cetane number and evaporations on the specific fuel consumption and cetane number requirements gmin in dependence on the speed are analyzed. Dependences are given to calculate the cetane number, and a relation is offered for the real cetane number of gasoline and diesel fuel mixtures.

Results are given of an experimental investigation of diesel-reductor installations on ships, intended for the active ice navigation, type SA-15, monitored by the combined and ice programmes, used at different operating conditions under special ice navigation conditions. Operating conditions and special monitoring are analyzed of the installation with two medium speed "Sulzer" diesel engines, type 14ZV40/48, operating by the reductor, hydraulic clutch and hard clutch on the controllable-pitch propeller. Recommendations are given on the further improvement of the control and service of diesel-reductor installations on ice navigation ships.

Hydrogen systems are considered to decrease the NO content and increase the fuel efficiency in automobile engines, used at conditions where the air exchange is limited. The hydrogen is preferably used, taken from a small-size gas generator. The composition of slag is given, forming in a hydrogen generator at the same time with the gaseous fuel, and the possibility is given of its wide use in different fields of the national economy, when solving problems of a technology without waste materials.
