Results arc given of the action factor analysis, showing that the free turbulence is the most important in the heat exchange in the engine exhaust manifold at the valve closed. Its effect is enforced by the natural convection and pressure pulses in the manifold. The calculation dependence is given in order to evaluate the non-stationary heat exchange, it is attained from experiments on the muffling channel model, dynamic engine model and the engine.

A technique is described of evaluation of the engine cylinder-piston group life on functions of the possible operation, avoiding limiting conditions of individual elements. The possible structure model of the engine cylinder-piston group is offered. A parallel-series structure model of the engine cylinder-piston group reliability is given as well as correlation connections between wears of individual elements of the cylinder-piston group, thus the function of reliability of the engine cylinder-piston group is defined, taking as an example the diesel engine 4Chl2/14 (SMD-14NQ).

Development of the filter-water separator for modern diesel engines

Data are given of theoretical and experimental investigations of the diesel fuel dewatering, using porous coagulation baffles. The calculation is offered of optimum constructive parameters of filter-water separators for diesel engine fuel systems. Tests of filter-water separators FW-1 and FW-2 for tractors MTZ-50/52 and T-150K respectively, are described. It is shown that the use of above filter-water separators instead of filter-sumps FG on these tractors increased the fine filter operation time up to 1500 hours as well as the effectiveness of all the fuel equipment operation.
