// Dvigatelestroyeniye. — 1989. — ¹ 3. — P. 25–27.
Key words: Engines.

The definition is offered to define the minimum starting temperature of an engine, taken as a standard engine, when operating on several kinds of oil, considering viscosity and temperature of these oils (on the base of the kinematic viscosity) and also minimum starting temperature. When this engine is operating on other oils their viscosity and temperature characteristics are taken into account. For raking of motor oils, considering their starting features, the desire Harrington function is used.

// Dvigatelestroyeniye. — 1989. — ¹ 3. — P. 35–37.
Key words: engines.

Two methods of improvement of hardness and wear resistance of the working surface of centrifugal diesel engine YaMZ-236 liners are compared at the blank casting: the forced cooling of the liquid internal casting surface by the air-water mixture and treatment of the liquid internal casting surface by powders on the base of ferrobor. The liner wear resistance is defined by comparative motor-test bed tests under real operating conditions of RIC engines. A trend is defined of optimization of hardness and amount of graphit inclusions in the liner working surface cast iron.

Fuel consumption of diesel engine energetic installation on the fishing ship board at high sea
// Dvigatelestroyeniye. — 1989. — ¹ 3. — P. 41–43.
Key words: engines.

A dependence is established of the fuel consumption per hour on spectral resistant moment density on the output shaft of units of marine diesel engine energetic installation (SDEU) at the disbalance operating conditions because of ship swinging motions. Experimental evaluation is given of the spectral resistant moment density and the fuel consumption per hour. The amplitude-frequency characteristics are made for the main engine and its speed governor. Practical examples are given of how to calculate a possible increase of the fuel consumption on individual engine types, recommendations are considered, offered for the lower fuel consumption.

Evaluation of the energy supply for a tractor with different engine characteristics
// Dvigatelestroyeniye. — 1989. — ¹ 3. — P. 44–46.
Key words: engines.

Evaluation of tractors, existing at present, on their energy supply is shown not to consider the tractor type, engine characteristics, operating conditions, and therefore can not be accepted as a technology criterion. The tractor energy supply is necessary to define, using the calculated engine power as a dividend. The engine forcing on the moment of the skidding tractor TB-1M of 70 kW is equal on the energy supply, defined by the calculated average power, to the increase of the service power by 23% (from 70 to 86 kW).
