A conclusion is given about the fact that under maximum power condition an isobar turbine is more effective that the pulse one, and losses because of the heat delivery to the turbine are relatively low.

Investigation results are given of a regularity of the correction of the axis curvature at final operations (honing and adjustment) of precision holes, and the correction intensity dependence on the using tool type. A calculation technique is given for allowances, necessary for correction of curvature within predetermined limits, and guarantee of these allowances, defining their satisfactory percentage for the operation, and also corresponding programme for a mini-computer «Iskra-226».

A possibility is cinsidered, based on given examples, of a diagnosis of a marine diesel engine fuel equipment, using the diagram of the dependence of an average indicator cylinder pressure on the active plunger stroke. The diagram is based on tests of a fine adjusted engine, having the good technical condition. Active plunger strokes can be defined by static characteristics of fuel pumps.

Comparison of the thermal-hydraulic effectiveness of heat carriers relative to high temperature cooling systems of internal combustion engines

A method is described of comparison and evaluation of the thermal-hydraulic effectiveness of the engine main details cooling by different single-phase heat carrier with their forced flows. 10 different heat carriers have been compared relative to the tractor diesel engine 6ChN13/14 cylinder liner cooling. The sodium is shown to have the most heat-hydraulic effectiveness, at that the use of helical channels is proved to be one of effective ways to increase the heat-hydraulic effectiveness of viscous liquids (lubrication oil, diesel fuel).

Experimental investigations of flexible and hydrodynamic characteristics of a connecting rod bearing of a small relative length

A technique is considered as well as results of experimental investigations of flexible hydrodynamic characteristics of a connecting rod bearing of small relative length (l/d=0,39–0,41). A high supercharged diesel engine is shown as an example. It is shown that the main deformation of the conneeting rod crank end is a result of the inertia force action and comes to the average 10 mkm per 10 kN of the extension load (in a real deformed bearing the relative shaft eccentricity goes to x=e/r—3).
