The recirculation valve with the cone dosing element is used, and the control system is described. The use of the exhaust gas recirculation under acceleration conditions on the FTP-75 cycle is explained to decrease blow-outs of NOx».

Main technological features are described for the centrifuge casting of bimetal marine diesel engine liners, using synthetic fluxes for protection from metal oxidation and refining in the process of casting forming in a rotating form, as well as the use of a microalloyed flux, containing copper scale for the alloying of the gray iron interior layer of bimetal casting in order to have stable perlite structure. Investigation results are given of quality and operating strength of marine diesel engine bimetal liners.

High frequency torsional vibrations of marine diesel-reductor units

Experience of the investigation of diesel-reductor torsional vibration is summarized under ship conditions. A formula is given to define the frequency of free oscillations of a "motor" form for diesel engines with 6 cranks. The effect is analyzed of individual torsional system elements on the development of high frequency forms: motor, "motor-reductor". Conditions are defined leading to unfavourite, motor-reductor forms, when under resonance oscillations one can expect creation of stressed areas in the diesel-reductor. Recommendations are given on the selection of link parameters of diesel-reductor with a propeller shaft.
