Performance characteristics of high speed diesel engines using different kinds of fuels

A performance is studied of marine auxiliary diesel engines, operating on low-grade oil fuels and perspective synthetic fuels made of carbon and combustible shale. Characteristics are analyzed relative to operation, fuel charge combustion in the diesel engine cylinder, temperature field of the cylinder liner as well as diesel engine operation technical and economical parameters, e. g. the fuel consumption, exhaust gas smoke when operating at the load characteristics.

A mathematical model is described of the piston stroke in the cylinder, considering the hydrodynamic friction and piston skirt deformation. Calculaton results are given of transverse motion characteristics of the oval-barrel piston with thermocontrol insertions and of the oil layer thickness in the conjunction the piston skirt-cylinder.

A criterion is offered to evaluate the effectiveness of constructive and technological measures to decrease the temperature in the zone of the first piston groove. The optimization of the lateral piston side profile is shown to have the lower temperature in the above zone, and losses are less than ones at the use of traditional measures.

Competitiveness of the principle diagram of governors SarDZ

Features are analysed of rigid and isodrome feedback of speed governors VRN-400, DRN-100 and 7RS-2 and amplitude frequency characteristics of a marine diesel engine installation, ways to improve the governor constructive parameters are defined. The principle diagram of governors made at Saratov diesel engine plant is shown to be competitive, comparing with diagrams of other types of hydromechanical governors, but as to governors of type PG, company «Woodward», it is not as good in filtering of nigh frequency disturbance actions.

Multifactor investigation of the connecting rod bearing vibroactivity under predamaged technical condition

Results are given of a multifactor investigation of the parameter variation of the diesel engine vibration signal at modelling of the predamaged situation in the connecting rod bearing. The main effect on the bearing vibration activity is shown to be caused by condition of the friction parts as well as the crankshaft speed. The conclusion is made of the reason to use high speed conditions for evaluation of the predamaged bearing condition.

Prevention of contamination of the tractor fuel tank durnig its operation

Data are given of the actual air pollution in the area of the fuel tank filler of tractors T-150K and K-700K, when carrying out different agricultural works in the region of Krasnodar. The atmosphere dust is shown to be one of the fuel contaminant sources in tractor fuel tanks during their operation. A filler cap is offered with a self-generating filter buffer, its use will allow to prevent the fuel contamination by the atmosphere dust and to increase the life of the secondary filter operation, they being located in modern engine fuel systems.
