Heat isolation and catalytic effect of ceramic materials on the diesel engine operation

Test results are described of a number of ceramic materials in a forchamber with the variable channel geometry on its effect on the fuel consumption and blow-; out of noxious substances with exhaust gases. Decrease of blow-outs of nitrogen oxide and hydrocarbons can be explained by the effect of the molibdenum decilicide on the operation as a catalyzer of the hydrocarbon dehydro-genation.

Mathematical modelling of a process of the RIC engine exhaust gas energy recovery

A mathematical model is given, as well as results of a numerical modelling of the process of the exhaust gas energy recovery on the heat release and hydraulical resistance of the RIC engine outlet cooled area. The effect is shown of an external thermal effect and internal heat sources on variation of main thermodynamic gas flow parameters. The maximum thickness is defined of the heat flow along the cooled zone to the wall in dependence on the gas speed at different temperatures.

A mathematical model is described, its use of numerical methods allows to define relative values of tengential dynamic loads and stresses in shaft lines of installations with RIC engines, appearing under external and internal engine disturbance. The model uses approximate dynamic masses instead of statistically substitute adjusted masses, because of that the accuracy of solution is essentially increased without complication of the model equations.
