Results are considered of comparative tests of combustion chambers (KS) different shapes on the diesel engine 1ChN14/14. Selection of the experimental KS shape is explained and deemed result's are predicted. Intensity of on-wall combustion brought the oportunity: the higher efficiency (5g/elh) within the whole load range, lower temperature of exhaust gas, some by 30 °C and higher maximum combustion pressure 7 kg/cm2.

Effect of the air cooling in the compressor housing on the measured efficiency

A method is described on how to define the adiabatic efficiency and correction coefficient on the measured air temperature after the compressor and the wall of the housing snail. Comparison of efficiency parameters was made, defined, using above method. Test results are given of the compressor on GOST 10033—68 with and without the compressor housing heat insulation. An effect is shown on the correction coefficient of the rotor speed and coefficient of the compressor consumption.

As a result of investigation of the effect on the dynamics of the hydroamplifier of power, intensitivity and time of the isodromic governor feedback and the load limiter fast action recommendations are given on how to select constructive and setting parameters. A nomogram is offered for optimization of installation operating conditions, considering stochastic characteristics of disturbance effect.

Development of a method to protect high loaded engine connections from fretting-corrosion

Investigation results are given of a number of materials and coatings, including copper, polymer, composition, solid lubrication and others under conditions of the fretting-corrosion at the high normal load for the conjugation «framejacket of the operating cylinder liner» of the diesel engine 6ChN40/46. Best results are shown to get when using the solid lubrication coating VFP-5 and fretting resistance filler on the base of friction geomodifications in the technical vaseline. Recommendations are offered on how to use investigated materials, using them on real details, subject to the fretting-corrosion under high loads.
