Calculation investigation of a cooled automobile silencer

Features are considered of heat release and hydraulic resistance in cooled silencers of automobiles type GAZ, ZIL, KamAZ and KrAZ. Calculation program is being developed in the computer for hydrodynamic and thermal processes in a curved channel of an external heat release silencer. An effect is analyzed of main geometrical parameters on these processes, taking into account the mass consumption of exhaust gases and their inlet temperature. Optimum values are established of gas cycle slope angles, the circle gap width and outer diameter of a recovery heat exchanger.

Restoration of engine body parts by welding

Existing methods are analyzed to restore the engine body parts, made of casting aluminium alloys, and advantages of welding by a stable arch. Welding investigations are described when using the stable arch. Investigations are given of the aluminium alloy detais welding using a stable arch, DC of reverse polarity. A technology is recommended of orepation and welding of engine body details made of casting aluminium alloys, using the stable arch, DC and reasonable welding conditions. Results of metal graph investigations are given.

Investigation results are described of the dynamic rate of cracks in cylinder heads of the diesel engine YaMZ-238NB_ (BChN13/14) at its operation. An analysis is given of the rate of cracks from the nozzle hole to inlet and outlet valve seats. The maximum permissible crack deep in diesel engine cylinder heads is explained. A method to increase the thermal-fatigue cylinder head strength at the overhaul is recommended.
