A method is described facilitating studies of evaporation of atomized fuel from heated surface. The laboratory test stand implementing the ˜thermal anemometric surface˜ method allows determination of a period during which given fuel dose would completely evaporate. A number of process-related parameters may also be identified thereby, including duration & dynamics of each evaporation phase and evaporation mass rate as functions of surface temperature (80-320˜C), air velocity over the surface (0-65 m/s), injected fuel dose etc. The method may be used in studies of fuel injection & evaporation in engines, as well as fuel film evaporation in power units other than internal combustion engines.
