Large Particle Method Efficiency in a Test Task
// Dvigatelestroyeniye. — 2003. — ¹ 2. — p. 24—25.
Keywords: diesel engines.

The article discusses comparative solutions of gas flow test task using commercial software package Star-CD and (Russian make) large particle method. The latter is shown as simpler and less demanding in terms of computer resources, being not inferior in precision of gas-dynamic flow simulation. Therefore, large particle method may be recommended for use in refinement of engine breathing system.

Experiment to Evaluate Efficiency of Diesel-Generator Frequency Starting with a Static Frequency Converter
// Dvigatelestroyeniye. — 2003. — ¹ 2. — P. 37—39.
Keywords: diesel engines.

Use of static frequency converters for reversible diesel-generator start is a way to substantially increase efficiency and enhance applicability range of electric engine starting, because the technology in question eliminates a need for electric starter, and is less demanding to characteristics of autonomous power supply (accumulator battery). Static frequency converters are widely used in numerous industrial applications in conjunction with induction and synchronous electric drives. However, frequency diesel-generator starting method was not actually given any detailed consideration as yet.
