Tribological Behavior of Emulsified Fuel in Diesel Fuel Injection Pumps
// Dvigatelestroyeniye. — 2004. — ? 1. — P. 38–40.
Keywords: engine, fuel.

Water/fuel emulsion used instead of regular diesel fuel is shown to in¬crease wear rate expectancy in precision tribological situations (such as fuel injection pump plunger/sleeve) due to water phase corrosive action. However, wear resistance of fuel injection system parts can be improved by removal of air from the system, since its is air oxygen that contributes into oxidation of iron/carbon friction pairs in the presence of water/fuel emulsion.
