Test results are analyzed of tractor engines 4ChN11/12.5 and 6ChN11/12.5, operating with a power turbine, and also the temperature condition of details, forming the combustion chamber (piston, piston head, piston liner). It is proved that the details temperature does not prevent the power turbine use on tractor diesel engines. In order to increase the unit (the engine and the power turbine) efficiency the engine air supply should be corrected.

The reason is considered to use methods of a statistic theory to recognize images at the synthesis of algorithms of the slow speed marine diesel engine diagnostics. A methodologic approach of this theory to solve the problems of identification is described briefly. An example is given of the algorithm creation for the diagnostics of the diesel engine 6DKRN67/140-4 timing, based on the experimental selection processing, having informative parameters of the indicator diagram.

A technique is given for evaluation of the load conditions for diesel engines of fishery ships, their influence on the service life characteristics, based on the statistic information of their reliability, it makes possible to take decisions of how to change the time period for the technical maintenance and overhauls. An example is given of the influence of the load distribution variation on the variation of the 7-percent fishery ship diesel engine life. A unique documentation is possible to develop, with the restricted extent and time for technical maintenance and cyclic overhaul for marine engines, running under different operating conditions.
